VLDB Banquet at the Arco Casino

Located in the very heart of Arco, the Casino was built on the orders of the Archduke Albrecht of Austria in the second half of the 1800s. Back in the 19th century, when the city used to be a health resort, the Casino was a meeting place for the upper-class members coming to Arco from all over Europe. Among its many illustrious customers, the Casino can boast the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, Sissi, who visited Arco probably in 1889, during a journey to the Southern area of the Garda Lake.

The original architectural structure dates back to the 18th century, and the restoration works that were carried out in the following years have preserved the style of the building, which still maintains the romantic atmosphere typical of that era.

Nowadays, the Casino is not only an elegant café, but also a venue for the most diverse events. In the outside area in front of the building there is a gazebo, which during the summer hosts music. Some meteorological devices can also be admired, which were used to inform customers about the weather conditions. The suggestive ballroom was added to the structure in the 20th century, just like the magnificent veranda looking out onto one of Arco’s most central boulevards.
