Exhibition

Running alongside the main conference for its full duration will be a co-related exhibition. This will provide a forum for industrial vendors, such as our major sponsor Oracle, to display and demonstrate their latest hardware and software tools and services. The exhibition will also provide a forum for traditional and electronic publishing, presentation of new tools for electronic commerce, and exhibits of the products of long-term research projects.

The exhibition will run in the Lomond Suite (details available on the VLDB'99 or EICC web-sites) alongside the refreshment facilities. Thus delegates will regularly be presented with the opportunity to browse the exhibits between sessions, in addition to the opportunity to make dedicated appointments to view items of interest.

As well as providing an additional point of interest and focus for our VLDB delegates from far afield, the exhibition is also intended to provide an attraction for local industrial and commercial companies. To facilitate this local advertising will be used to encourage the attendance of full and daily delegates from those local companies, thereby adding to the delegate mix and providing further opportunities for delegates to establish useful contacts for commercial, research and/or social pursuits.

Full details of the exhibition can be found on the VLDB'99 website. If you wish further information, or would like to exhibit at VLDB'99, please contact the Exhibition Organiser, Lachlan MacKinnon, at lachlan@cee.hw.ac.uk.
