Information for Sponsors
The sponsor’s role:
Many companies and
organizations have been active in the VLDB conference, and have sponsored
past VLDBs. Without these sponsorships, It would be difficult to offer the
same high quality, for which the VLDB is well known, at affordable
registration rates. The normal way for sponsorship is cash contributions
to defray the costs of organizing the conference and to assist in local
participation. Contributions are normally made in the range of
$5,000-$30,000.
In return, the sponsor will
receive publicity through our relevant publications including the official
proceedings, brochures, and conference posters. All these publications are
disseminated locally and worldwide through our international publicity
chairs. In addition, the sponsor's name and logo will be displayed on our
home page. Names of contributors will be displayed by in order of their
contributions.
Other forms of sponsorship
could include hosting a meal, a social event (sightseeing or dinner
cruise) or the conference banquet, which could be held in the name of the
sponsor.
Additionally, some
companies contribute an amount earmarked to support local registrations
for faculty members form local universities and professionals from various
government organizations. This could be named after the sponsor as a
special VLDB fund.
