The
regular registration fee includes
attendance at all the conference sessions, tutorials and other
scientific events (excluding workshops), lunch on the first
three days of the conference, morning and afternoon refreshment
breaks, one copy of the proceedings, one CD with the papers of
the proceedings, one reception ticket and one banquet ticket.
Please submit one registration form for each regular delegate.
The
student registration fee includes everything that is included
in the regular registration category fee. However, only a limited
number of this type of student registrations is available: First
Come, First Server. Every student may choose the low budget registration.
There is no limit, but it does not include all benefits. Please
submit one registration form for each student delegate. Only full
time students qualify for the student rate. Students must present
a letter from their supervisor and a student ID on-site.

"low budget" student registration fee includes attendance
at all the conference sessions, tutorials and other scientific
events (excluding workshops), morning and afternoon refreshment
breaks, one printed and one electronic (CD) copy of the proceedings,
and one reception ticket. Please submit one registration form
for each student delegate. Only full time students qualify for
the "low budget" student rate. Students must present a letter
from their supervisor and a student ID on-site.
The
day ticket fee includes attendance at all the conference sessions,
tutorials and other scientific events (excluding workshops), morning
and afternoon refreshment breaks, and one lunch, all during
the day the ticket is booked for. The day ticket of September 9,
2003, is valid for all tutorials and other scientific events (excluding
workshops) until noon of September 10, 2003. The day ticket
for September 11, 2003, is valid for all tutorials and other scientific
events (excluding workshops) until noon of September 12,
2003 (the end of the conference).
Early
and advance registration payment must be received by the corresponding
registration deadline date or the next higher registration fee
will apply. Payment must accompany all registration forms and
can be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Eurocard, Diners)
or by bank transfer. Registration forms received without payment
will not be processed. Any outstanding registration fees must
be paid before attendance at the conference will be authorized.
Cancellations
and substitutions are allowed. Cancellations must be made
in writing to the VLDB 2003 Registration Office at the address
specified above. Full registration fees will be charged unless
a cancellation notice is received by August
8, 2003, 5:00 p.m. Berlin time.
A Euro 50 handling fee will be applied to all cancelled registrations.
No fees will be refunded after the cancellation deadline. Cancellations
will be processed after the conference. Substitutions must be
made in writing either to the VLDB 2003 Registration Office at
the address specified above or on-site. A letter on company/institution
letterhead is required from the original registrant stating the
conditions of the substitution and the name of the replacement.
Use
of personal information. Any personal/business information
supplied to the conference will be used by the conference organization
for the purposes of conference registration and administration.
Names/addresses of attendees will be processed electronically
and included in a list of participants that may be posted/distributed
during and in connection with the conference. In addition, under
control of the VLDB Endowment Board, this information may also
be made available for purposes beneficial to the scientific community
such as informing attendees of relevant related publications,
events, or items of interest to the community. By registering
for the conference, participants give their consent for such uses
of their personal/business information.
Best
effort. The organizers of VLDB 2003 are making every effort
to make it an enlightening and enjoyable experience for participants.
However, neither the VLDB Endowment nor the local organizers can
take responsibility for any damage, loss or inconvenience participants
might incur in connection with the conference. In addition, the
organizers cannot be held responsible for the correctness or appropriateness
of the talks, papers, panels, tutorials and demonstrations included
in the conference. In particular, changes to the published conference
program or cancellation of parts thereof do not entitle participants
to a full or partial refund of the conference fee.
