VLDB is a premier international conference on database technology, organized every year by the VLDB Endowment (http://www.vldb.org/). VLDB 2002 will be held in Hong Kong, one of the most important financial centers in the world and a gateway to China. Hong Kong has significant activities in computing, including software companies, and many important users. It also has a strong academic tradition, with various different database groups in university departments. VLDB usually draws 400-500 participants and has drawn up to 700.

We are actively seeking sponsorship for the conference. There are five categories of sponsorship for the VLDB 2002 conference that are described below. There are also several specific conference events or items that can be sponsored. In each case, the sponsoring organization is responsible for providing the artwork (organization logo) to be included on the various conference publications, promotional materials and web site. Any promotional material provided by a sponsor will be placed in the conference registration packet.

PLATINUM SPONSORSHIP


US$30,000 donation for which the sponsor will get:

  • acknowledgment in conference literature and proceedings;
  • name on banner display at the conference and on the VLDB 2002 web site sponsorship page;
  • 6 complimentary conference registrations (approximate value US$3,000);
  • double-size 24 hr-hold exhibition space (20 s.m.) (approximate value US$4,000).

GOLD SPONSORSHIP


US$20,000 donation for which the sponsor will get:

  • acknowledgment in conference literature and proceedings;
  • name on banner display at the conference and on the VLDB 2002 web site sponsorship page;
  • 3 complimentary conference registrations (approximate value US$1,500);
  • regular-size 24 hr-hold exhibition space (10 s.m.) (approximate value US$2,000).

SILVER SPONSORSHIP


US$10,000 donation for which the sponsor will get:

  • acknowledgment in conference literature and proceedings;
  • name on banner display at the conference and on the VLDB 2002 web site sponsorship page;
  • 1 complimentary conference registration (approximate value US$500);
  • regular-size, daily-use exhibition space (10 s.m.) (approximate value US$1,000).

EVENT/ITEM SPONSORSHIP


The conference events/items listed below can be sponsored for the indicated donation.

Banquet -- one sponsor for a donation of US$20,000 or two sponsors for a donation of US$10,000 each;
Reception -- one sponsor for a donation of US$10,000 or two sponsors for a donation of US$5,000 each;
Keynote speaker program -- one sponsor for a donation of US$10,000 or two sponsors for a donation of US$5,000 each;
Participants kit -- one sponsor for a donation of US$5,000.

The sponsor of a particular event/item will receive

  • acknowledgment in conference literature and proceedings;
  • acknowledgment at the event or for the item sponsored.

Sponsorship of a conference event/item cannot be combined with any of the other types of sponsorships (Platinum, Gold or Silver) described above.

  • acknowledgment in conference literature and proceedings;

IN COOPERATION SPONSORSHIP


This sponsorship category is intended for academic/professional societies who will make their mailing lists available to VLDB 2002. No donation is required. The in cooperation sponsor will get:
