Call for Tutorials

Call for Tutorials

VLDB 2014 invites submissions for tutorial proposals on all topics of potential interest to the conference attendees.

Tutorial proposals should be no more than five pages, using an 11 pt or larger font for the body of the text of the proposal, and should include enough detail to provide a sense of both the scope of material to be covered and the depth to which it will be covered. Tutorial proposals should identify the intended audience and its assumed background. Tutorials with an audience broader than the research community are encouraged. Proposals that focus excessively on the authors' own work are discouraged. The intended length of the tutorial (1.5 or 3 hours) should be indicated. If the tutorial can be of either length, please be sure to identify which material is included for each length. Proposals should identify any other venues in which all or part of the tutorial has been or will be presented, and explain how the tutorial proposal for VLDB 2014 differs. Proposals should include contact information (name, affiliation, email address) and brief professional biographies of the presenters.

Proposals should be submitted by email (in PDF format) to Divesh Srivastava. The submission deadline is March 31, 2014. Notifications will be made by May 31, 2014. Submissions will be evaluated by a committee consisting of:

Xiaoyong Du (Renmin University)
Murat Kantarcioglu (UT, Dallas)
Divesh Srivastava (AT&T Labs-Research)

Accepted tutorial presentations will be made available to VLDB 2014 participants.
