Procedure
Registration confirmation
Your registration and payment will be confirmed via email upon completion and successful payment. This email will include an overview of your requirements according to your registration form, and payment receipt.
Accommodation
During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of accommodation discounts exclusive to Conference delegates.
Name badge
All in-person attendees will receive a name badge upon onsite check-in at the event. The badge will be your official pass and must be clearly visible at all times to obtain entry to Workshops, Conference sessions, and social functions.
Delegate conduct
The Conference Managers expect delegates to behave in a professional, respectful manner throughout the event. As such, the Conference Managers reserve the right to revoke the registration and privileges of anyone who is deemed in breach of this code of conduct.
Private Touring, Private Functions, Hospitality Arrangements
Should you have any specialised group requirements for private touring, private function, transportation or hospitality services other than those organised for the official program, please contact the Conference Managers who would be pleased to assist with arrangements.
It is requested that you advise the Conference Managers of any private /corporate functions that might be planned outside of the official program.
Payment Options
Payment by Credit Card
- Payment by credit card is the preferred method of payment.
- All transactions by credit card will appear on your bank statement as “Conference by Arinex”.
- We offer SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology & 2048 bit data encryption to protect your personal information and credit card details.
Other Payment options

Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be notified in writing to the VLDB 2024 Conference Managers at register.vldb2024@arinex.com.au
NOTE: There will be a A$150 administration fee charged for refunds on duplicate registration payments
Registration (in person and virtual)
Cancellations on or before Monday 18 July 2024 will incur a A$150.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations from Tuesday 19 July 2024 to Thursday 4 August 2024 will incur a 50% cancellation fee or A$150.00 cancellation fee, whichever is greater.
Cancellations on or after Friday 5 August 2024 will receive no refund.
Accommodation
Credit card details must be given at time of booking to guarantee reservation.
Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour
One night's deposit is non-refundable as at Wednesday 17 August 2024.
Full cancellation fee of all nights of the stay will be forfeited if you do not arrive on the date for which you have booked.
Metro Aspire Hotel Sydney
One night's deposit is non-refundable between Wednesday 3 August 2024 to Wednesday 17 August 2024.
Full cancellation fee of all nights of the stay will be forfeited if you cancel your stay from Thursday 18 August 2024 or do not arrive on the date for which you have booked.
Social Functions
Payments are non-refundable as at Friday 5 August 2024.
Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the event and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include:
- Loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the event or through the cancellation of the event,
- Loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason,
- Loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia,
- Failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay,
- Force Majeure or any other reason,
- Medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover),
- Loss or damage to personal property,
- Additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered,
- Medical expenses.
The Conference Managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
Disclaimer
The program is correct at the time of publishing. The organisers reserve the right to delete, modify or alter items from the program or to delete, modify or alter any aspect of the Conference timetabling and delivery at their sole discretion and without notice. Neither the host organisation(s) nor the Conference Managers will accept any liability for any loss or inconvenience caused to any party consequent to such changes.
The Conference Managers reserve the right to use any recordings whether audio or video and/or any photographs taken at any stage during the Conference for promotional, advertising or reporting of the Conference and/or its content at their sole discretion.
Code of Conduct
The Organiser and Host/s of the VLDB 2024 (the “Event”) reserve the right to remove from the venue/Event at any time any attendee deemed to be causing, or potentially causing, a disturbance or exhibiting disruptive or inappropriate behaviour. Such removal does not constitute a right to refund of any fees paid. All attendees are expected to adhere to the ACM policy on conduct and also to follow any reasonable directions of venue or organisation staff and to conform to all applicable laws and public health policies.
